About
My Story
I love the emotions jewelry evokes and the stories it tells. It is a form of self-expression for me. Jewelry is a wearable and tangible memory.
From an early age, I have been exposed to a variety of gems, designs and traditions resulting in both a fascination and appreciation of the symbolism, cultural significance and sentimentalism in jewelry. You could always find me speaking to the jewelry vendors at African flea markets and with every new country I have visited, I have strived to acquire a deeper jewelry knowledge.
Experience
Prior to launching my own jewelry consultancy, I lived in Johannesburg, Madrid, Washington, D.C., London and San Francisco where I worked at Edelman and Sotheby’s in addition to a variety of fashion and jewelry houses including Burberry, Jessica McCormack and Paula Mendoza.
I hold a B.S. in International Business and Marketing from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a Graduate Gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
Giving Back
I believe every girl has the right to choose to love on her own terms.
That’s why I am proud to be part of the #LoveIsOurBusiness initiative to help @VOWforGirls end child marriage.
For every project we work on together, I will be donating a portion of the net proceeds to VOW for Girls, a nonprofit that raises funds on a global scale to end child marriage, an issue that affects 12 million girls around the world each year.
I'm a firm believer we all have the right to own our future, love on our own terms and choose who we marry, when/if we marry. VOW for Girls invests 100% of funds raised in underfunded yet effective local efforts that advance girls’ rights by providing education, job training and vital life skills.
